Avni Sethi

She is an interdisciplinary practitioner whose work explores the intersections of violence, memory, space, the body, and social justice. She conceptualised and founded Conflictorium, India’s first Museum of Conflict, and Mehnat Manzil, a Museum of Work, creating public spaces that foster dialogue, collective memory, and civic engagement. Trained in multiple dance traditions, her practice spans performance, museum-making, and collaborative artistic experimentation through the Ordo Performance Collaboratory. She has written and spoken extensively on the role of small museums as spaces for conflict transformation and care-based ecosystems, and was awarded the Jane Lombard Prize for Art and Social Justice (2020-22) by the Vera List Center for Art and Politics.
